When I was in my 40s I began experiencing hot flushes and changes in my menstrual cycle, including blood clots and flooding. I visited my GP only to be told βYou are in menopause. You are just getting old.β.
The phrase βperimenopauseβ wasnβt mentioned, nor was there a discussion about natural solutions for symptom relief. Instead, the discussion immediately turned to talk of HRT, the pill and the option of a hysterectomy.
